Removable Appliances

This is the method that everyone wishes we could use, but in fact very few real Orthodontic problems can be treated with a "retainer-like" removable appliance.  

Often, if one or two front teeth need aligning or retracting and there is room to move them, then a removable appliance can be used.  We often use a small device known as a "Spring Clip" retainer to re-align lower incisors that have become crowded. A Spring Clip aligner must be worn 24 hours a day.  At the point in time where the teeth are improved enough, we generally bond a permanent retainer behind the lower incisors.
